A-tec Safety procedure
Experienced rides are generally used to using a 'Camel Back' feedpipe drinking devise, although by drinking at our frequent stops you should avoid getting dehydrated
While you are on holiday and out to enjoy yourselves, there is always the risk of an accident or some unforeseen incident accruing. The procedure set out here is for your own safety and that of everybody on the tour.
Every morning we conduct a brief meeting to cover possible issues from the day before and also talk through the planned days riding. Because we ride strictly to system 'D' schedule you are all taking responsibility for other tour members.
In the event of this system breaking down, whether from a mechanical fault, puncture or personal problem, a very simple but effective procedure takes place.
* With an A-tec representatives leading and tailing the tour, the lead rider is always in control of movement. If at any given point this system breaks down, generally your losing site of the rider in front or behind you at a junction would indicate this.
* Stop immediately, find somewhere comfortable in view of the junction, relax and be prepared of a long wait.
* Stop any other 'tour' members who may appear from along the track you just came along, the tail rider should also appear. If no one else appears , still remain in place.
* The priority in this situation is for one of the A-tec reps to be at the incident to assess the problems and begin taking the necessary action.
* Medical emergency-Both A-tec reps have been trained for these incidents and carry an emergency first aid kit as well as having the necessary contact numbers, it is important everybody remain claim, acts with common sense and works under instruction.
If the whole tour is spread over two kilos and five junctions, it only a matter of time before you will all reunited. It is only when one rider strays from the track that time is taken finding them.
Even in extreme cases the tour will continue on and arrive at your next resort destination.
